BioSteve is sweet, adorable, and oh-so-gay. He's also HIV positive, Catholic, and a lawyer. To be more specific...
Steve grew up in New Jersey. Whoop-de-doo. He went to Catholic school his whole life, and moved on to Catholic college - namely Fordham University in New York City. Steve is still relatively religious (moreso recently than in the past), and he has come to a place of peace in regards to his religion vs. his sexuality. He struggled a bit in high school, but thanks to having an understanding priest, he has come to the conclusion that he can be a good Catholic and a good person AND be gay. His HIV status has brought him to a much more spiritual place, and he has started going to mass more than once a month.
After graduating from Fordham, he moved on to Fordham's Law School, which he also graduated from. Just after graduation, he started work with a non-profit legal firm, and met a very nice lesbian lawyer named Joanne Jefferson.
He also met a guy he really liked, shortly before his graduation, named Gordon Daniels. Gordon was HIV positive, but Steve promised he'd take every precaution and get regular blood tests. They were happy together for a good while, Steve started dragging Gordon to a support group he'd heard of called Life Support, and things were looking to be good. Until one of Steve's tests came back positive. Steve was understandably scared and uncertain, but he kept his chin up and refused to let it grind his life to a halt, for the most part. Gordon, however, flipped out and broke up with him. Steve has never really known why. He started going to Life Support for himself, despite the fact that it was hard seeing Gordon every week, and continued working. His insurance doesn't cover his medication, but the other lawyers who work with him have helped him a lot with being able to afford it.
He has not gotten a new boyfriend.
